i think being able to see more of the back of the shoe would make the image flow better. also the shadow under the shoe kind of takes away from the realism because it's not shown with the paint.

I agree with Rvers3 that maybe pull the pattern of the shoe into the paint out the back. Maybe have the long skinny paint line come from the shoelace? Thats what i thought it was at first glance.
